From the convenience of their own farms, offices and homes, this RMSA online Zoom meeting will provide participants with the unique opportunity to put questions direct to President of the National Farmers Federation, Mrs Fiona Simson.
With over 85,500 individual farm business contributing around $60 billion to the national economy each year, agriculture remains a core financial and social pillar of Australia.
The National Farmers Federation is the primary body charged with representing the interests of the nation’s farming community. At its head, NSW farmer Fiona Simson is well equipped to deal with the diversity of extremely complex issues her organisation needs to manage.
Mrs Simson’s portfolio of interests include guidance for employers, sustainability initiatives, farm chemicals, biotechnology, research & development, farm safety, industrial relations, competition policy and financial risk management.
From an environmental perspective, agricultural businesses occupy and manage 51% of Australia’s landmass. As such, agricultural businesses are at the frontline in delivering environmental outcomes on behalf of the broader community.
Fiona Simson has genuine farming mud in her boots. She is a farmer from the Liverpool Plains in NSW where she, husband Ed and family run a mixed farming enterprise including broadacre cropping and commercial Poll Hereford cattle.
