Ed Peter heads Duxton Asset Management, a company that manages or advises assets of approximately US $700 million, of which US $460 million comprises agricultural investments. His company has operating investments on five continents and is currently working on live projects in Latin America, Australia, the Pacific, the Caribbean and Africa for its existing client base.

As a global investment company, the question really is what has been the incentive for Ed Peter and Duxton to commit huge amounts of money to agriculture and why in Australia?

One of the leading international players in agricultural investments, Duxton manages or advises 21 operations that span 540,000 hectares of farmland and over 30 commodities, managed by approximately 500 on-the-ground senior farmers and supported by more than 13,000 farm workers.  This is quite a mass, giving us breadth of experience and insight into this expanding market.

Ed Peter himself has a vast background in global investment, starting his career with Credit Suisse in Geneva in 1986 dealing with Swiss equity sales.  Prior to forming Duxton in 2009, Ed Peter was Head of Deutsche Asset Management Asia Pacific ("DeAM Asia"), Middle East & North Africa.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Carleton College in Northfield, USA.
